Under the Choko Tree By Nevin Sweeney

Choko Tree Friends - Salman

Salman and his family live on a 700m2 block in far western Sydney in a brick veneer house. They have been living there for 16 years but have only in the last few years become interested in producing their own food and living more sustainably. Seven years ago Salman attended training in aquaculture, which he has practiced in his back yard and in the last year or so has combined his knowledge and started developing aquaponics systems. He also raises quail for meat and eggs, and keeps chooks for eggs as well as having fruit trees and an assortment of veggies growing, some in innovative recycled containers.
