A couple of weeks ago Linda and I had a wander around the buildings and grounds of the Macarthur Centre for sustainable living, down Campbelltown way, near the Mount Annan botanical gardens. We got there a little late in the day but the staff were very helpful and always up for a yarn on all things sustainable. At the front of the site is the visitors centre cottage which has displays on techniques and products for sustainable living and further on into the property is the education centre where a number of different types of sustainable building design ideas have been incorporated. There are a number of other sustainable design features around the grounds including various types of veggie bed, water tanks, reed bed, poultry, worm farm, billabong and various solar power projects.
