Under the Choko Tree By Nevin Sweeney

Bath Melts

By Kevin Mechelmans.

Ingredients
130gr cocoa butter
120gr refined beeswax
60ml jojoba oil
60ml of olive oil
5ml chocolate essential oil

Method
Melt the beeswax and butter in a double boiler method, gently stir through the jojoba and olive oils. Once the mixture has cooled, but not solidified, add the essential oil. Pour the mixture in a mould (ice cube tray worked for me) and place in the fridge.

Basically I attempted this for the same reason as the lip balm, I do suggest using a smaller mould, the ice cube tray I used made big cubes and the melts took a bit longer to melt. If you prefer bigger melts to increase the fragrance per bath, reduce the butter and beeswax by about 10gr each.

Again none of the in-laws have reported back to me, whether their melts were successful and or enjoyable, they obviously don’t trust me… as for my personal attempt, bar from the time it took to melt, it added a nice fragrance to the bathroom and having your significant other approve of you smelling like a chocolate bar can’t hurt…

NOTE

I have used chocolate essential/flavour oils for most of the recipes to make it simple and who doesn’t want their partner to smell/taste like chocolate, but you could use any essential/flavour oil you like the smell off. You could also add tea tree oil to most of the recipes.

Tea tree oil is a natural antiseptic, anti-fungal and anaesthetic, adding a drop or two could be beneficial. Might change the fragrance though.

Use brown coloured glass jars or bottles for the aftershave oils and shaving oils, and keep them out of direct sunlight.

A word of caution - use of some essential oils are not advised when you have particular medical conditions such as Hypertension or if you are pregnant. Make sure you always check first.
