David is a great example of taking what you learn and then immediately putting it into practice. He has only been living in his current house with his partner for less than three years and it has been less than six months since he completed his permaculture design certificate. Since that time, though, he has been developing his yard with lots of sustainable and productive features. The land is only 462 m2 in total area and of that, his current productive area is 62 m2 including a pergola and narrow side passage area. He has managed to squeeze lots of good stuff into that small an area. David is just starting out and his back yard is a great example of starting out right!
If you want more information, he has the pictures of his journey on a Facebook page.
